Privacy

Last updated .

MassOutage is free and has no ads. You can use the site, the feeds and the API without an account. We collect the minimum needed to run the service and keep it healthy.

What we collect

A visitor identifier (FingerprintJS)
First-party analytics: counting visits and which pages are useful. It is not shared with ad networks or used to build profiles across other sites.
API request logs
Endpoint, time, status and a salted, hashed client identifier, so we can spot abuse and see which endpoints matter. Raw IP addresses are not stored.
Your email address and a session cookie
Only if you sign in. The email receives your magic sign-in links and any alerts you set up; the session cookie keeps you signed in.
Workspace settings
The alert rules, channels (webhook, Slack, Teams, email destinations), dashboard sync jobs and members you create.
Webhook and alert delivery logs
When each delivery was attempted and whether it succeeded, so you can debug your integrations and we can pause failing channels.

How long we keep it

Raw API request logs
30 days, then rolled into aggregate daily counts
Webhook and alert delivery logs
30 days
Outage events
90 days
Account and workspace data
Until you delete it or ask us to

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your data.
  • Show ads or share data with advertising networks.
  • Send marketing email. Your address only receives sign-in links and the alerts you configure.
  • Add anyone who writes to us to a mailing list. Contact form messages go to our inbox and are used only to reply.
