Live data coverage
The live map is aggregated from many utility and government feeds. This page shows exactly what each source reported on the most recent poll (4 min ago), and how much of the national total we can pin to a specific county versus what we only know at the utility or state level. We never spread an un-localized total across counties by estimate.
Customers under active watch
26,356,426A measured floor, not an estimate: it sums the served-customer counts only from sources that publish one (so their “% out” is real). Feeds without a denominator contribute 0 here, so the true number of customers we watch is higher than this figure — never lower.
Sources this poll
These are each source’s own figures, before de-duplication. Where two feeds cover the same utility or state their customers overlap, so this “Customers out” column intentionally sums to more than the national total above — that total is the merged, de-duplicated figure.

How this is counted
- County-level + not-localized always equals customers out. A source that reports only a utility- or state-wide total counts toward the state figure but is never spread across counties by estimate.
- The split is taken from the merged rollups, not by summing raw source output — where one source authoritatively aggregates a state, the others’ rows there are dropped so nothing is double-counted.
- “Customers under active watch” is a measured floor from sources that publish a served count; it is not an estimate of every customer we observe.
- When a source fails a poll we keep its last good numbers, marked Stalewith the real “last fetch” time, for up to ~40 minutes — never silently dropped to zero. Past that it’s marked Down and its regions show a gap rather than stale data.
